How the Forum contributes
The Vancouver Arts and Cultures Forum gives people the ability to communicate their interests, contribute their ideas, and create connections and cooperative enterprise around common interests.
Who owns the Forum
The idea is to make the stories, the audiences, and the connections created by the Forum of sufficient value to contributors to enable the Forum to operate as a self-sustaining cooperative community enterprise.
Quantumideas is currently the operating trustee and registered domain owner. The Forum will be owned by the community as a cooperative. The domain name and any assets will be transferred to a trust.
How the Forum operates
All participants in the Forum agree to operate with integrity, transparency, and accountability in their relationships.
The creative director is the administrator and custodian of the communication centre.
Contributions to the conversations are approved by a moderator before being published. Moderators ensure that what gets published contributes to the interests of the Forum and the audiences it serves.
Editors assist community contributors in telling their stories to improve their ability to connect, inform, and serve the interests of the audiences served.
Media articles and online reports related to the conversation are selected and published with a credit and link to the online source, the writer, or the original publisher.
Any community contributor can inform audiences about who they are and their interests, what they do and how they contribute, host conversations around ideas and initiatives, report on what they are currently doing, and keep people informed of events and opportunities.
For profit contributors can pay for the preparation, publication, and updating of their own stories, and can pay for the stories of not for profit contributors.
